This class can not only get you certified for your VA, WV & UT conealed handgun permits, but you can also get a MD wear and carry permit as well!
We have taken our regular concealed carry classes and added in all of the rest of the requirements to also get a Maryland concealed handgun permit. Or, as it is called in Maryland, a Wear & Carry permit.
So, if you would like to get a VA permit you can take the first 2 hours of this class (per our standard class), if you would also like a UT permit (get 3 more states you can carry in as a VA resident DE,WI, & WA) you can take the first 3 hours of this class (just like our normal 3 hours class). If you would like a WV permit, we just need to spend some time on the range too. We will spend about 1 hour (or so) for a total of about 4 hours of time. If, you would also like to get a Maryland wear and carry permit, you will need to spend both days with us as it is a required 16 hour class.
We have 2br (3 beds) 1.5 bath Townhouses available for those that need a place to stay for the class as well, the cost is $250/night. I can help with the arrangements if you give me (Jason) a call, 571-237-9138.
With the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen case ruling from the United States Supreme Court, Maryland (and all the other Concealed Carry unfriendly States) can no longer make you prove a “suffecient need” in order to obtain a permit to carry a firearm for self-defense hidden on your person.
They can however, make it exremely burdensome to do so, both from a time, and financial standpoint. Maryland (as well as DC and IL) requires a 16 hour class that must include a shooting qualification in order to apply for a permit to “wear and carry” a firearm in Maryland. So, we have developed a 16 hour class that will satisfy all of the requirments and then some!
Our goal is to get you trained so that you can apply for the permits but also make you a safer, more wise firearm owner so that you can have the confidence to carry your firearm in which ever state you may be traveling through.
You can now get a permit to carry a firearm on your person for self-defense in up to 42 States via the reciprocity agreements that States have with other States in the U.S. That is, once you put in the time/money/effort in to getting the permits. We will step you through the process of getting your permit during the class. We will provide everything that we can during the class. We can provide the 2×2 pictures and fingerprinting for UT if needed. Fingerprinting for MD you need to have taken outside of the class (we are not setup to submit them electronicaly to MD yet). So, there will still be a few things you will need to do. We only do the training/certification for you to get the permits. We can not apply for the permits for you, and we do not issue any of the permits to you.
Range/Shooting Qualification (WV and MD Permit classes).
You will need to bring the firearm (and a holster, & spare mag holder are a good idea too) you plan on using during the range time/shooting qualification along with at least 150 rounds of ammo, but 300 is not a bad idea. We will spend as much time as needed on the range for the shooting qualification (and or fun!) You should bring eye protection, and hearing protection as well. We highly recommend wearing a shirt with a sleeve of some length, jeans/long pants, and possibly a hat. Sturdy closed toe shoes are highly recomended. We will be outside when on the range, so bring a jacket/coat along possibly as well. Be prepared to be outdoors while on the range! We can also provide a firearm (Glock 19) and holsters as well. Firearm rental $40/day no ammo is included, but we can provide that as well with prior arrangments.
